(“Client”)

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services offered by Gap Year Guide, owned and operated by Sarah Anthony (“Gap Year Guide,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By booking or participating in any session, program, or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. SERVICES PROVIDED

Gap Year Guide provides mentorship and coaching services, including strategic advising, 1-on-1 coaching, application editing, MCAT strategy tutoring, mock interviews, and readiness preparation for professional exams.
All services are provided remotely via Zoom unless otherwise specified.

Services offered by Gap Year Guide, owned and operated by Sarah Anthony, do not include:

  • medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice

  • licensed academic advising

  • representation before any admissions board or test organization

2. SESSION FORMAT, PAYMENT & BILLING

All sessions are held via Zoom.
Services are billed on an hourly basis and must be paid in full prior to the session.
Gap Year Guide accepts payment via PayPal unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

3. CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING & REFUNDS

  • Cancellations made 12+ hours before the session will receive a full refund.

  • Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the session will receive a 50% refund.

  • Missed sessions without notice are non-refundable.

  • Makeup sessions may be scheduled depending on availability.

4. COMMUNICATION POLICY

Client may contact Gap Year Guide between sessions via email.
We aim to respond within 24 hours on business days.

5. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

To support meaningful progress, the Client agrees to:

  • attend sessions on time

  • complete agreed-upon tasks, homework, or materials

  • provide accurate, honest application or academic information

  • submit all materials by deadlines set by admissions organizations

Gap Year Guide is not responsible for late, incomplete, or mis-submitted applications.

6. RECORDING & PRIVACY POLICY

a. No Recording Without Consent

Clients may not record, screenshot, or distribute any part of a session (audio, video, chat, materials) without express written permission from Gap Year Guide.

b. Confidentiality of Communications

All emails, messages, worksheets, templates, and feedback shared by Gap Year Guide are confidential and for personal use only.
They may not be:

  • shared publicly

  • used in disputes

  • posted online

  • sent to third parties

  • used against Gap Year Guide in any capacity

c. Client Confidentiality

Gap Year Guide will not disclose personal information shared during services except as required by law.

7. PROPRIETARY MATERIALS

All content, templates, PDFs, slides, strategies, and advising frameworks are the intellectual property of Gap Year Guide.
Client may use these materials for personal application preparation only and may not reproduce, sell, or distribute them.

8. DISCLAIMERS

a. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Gap Year Guide does not guarantee acceptance, interview invitations, score improvements, academic outcomes, or any specific results.

b. Not a Substitute for Licensed Advising

Services are not a replacement for guidance from official channels such as academic advisors, admissions offices, AAMC, AACOMAS, AMCAS, TMDSAS, or testing organizations.

c. No Medical, Legal, or Financial Advice

Gap Year Guide does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice. Client should consult qualified professionals for such matters.

d. Client Responsibility

Client is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and submission of their application materials.

9. TERMINATION OF SERVICES

Either the Client or Gap Year Guide may terminate services at any time, for any reason, with written notice.
Refunds for unused prepaid sessions will be issued according to the cancellation policy above.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Services are provided “as is.” Gap Year Guide is not liable for:

  • missed deadlines

  • errors or omissions in Client-provided materials

  • decisions made by academic institutions or testing organizations

  • indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Liability is limited to the amount paid by the Client for services.

11. Arbitration Clause

If any dispute arises between the Client and Gap Year Guide that requires legal intervention, the parties agree that all claims shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the State of Connecticut.

Arbitration is intended to avoid court proceedings and ensure efficient, private resolution.

By using our services, the Client waives the right to pursue claims in court.

12. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Client Acknowledgment

By booking or participating in any Gap Year Guide service, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
