TERMS & CONDITIONS

(“Client”)

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services offered by Gap Year Guide, owned and operated by Sarah Anthony (“Gap Year Guide,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By booking or participating in any session, program, or service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. SERVICES PROVIDED

Gap Year Guide provides coaching and application strategy services, including 1-on-1 sessions, application editing, MCAT strategy support, mock interviews, and readiness preparation.

All services are provided remotely via Zoom unless otherwise specified.

Services offered by Gap Year Guide, owned and operated by Sarah Anthony, do not include:

  • medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice

  • do not constitute licensed educational advising or professional advising of any kind of representation before any admissions board or test organization

2. SESSION FORMAT, PAYMENT & BILLING

All sessions are held via Zoom unless otherwise specified.

Gap Year Guide offers both:

  • One-time services, and

  • Ongoing monthly services


  1. One-Time Services

One-time services include (but are not limited to): individual coaching sessions, strategic roadmap sessions, application editing, interview preparation, and other single-purchase offerings.

Payment for one-time services is due in full at the time of booking. Sessions will not be confirmed until payment is received.

  1. Ongoing Monthly Services

For Clients enrolled in a monthly plan:

  • The Client agrees to a minimum commitment of three (3) months

  • The Client will be billed monthly in the amount agreed upon at purchase

  • Payment is due in full at the start of each billing cycle. 

Each billing cycle begins on the date of the Client’s initial purchase and recurs monthly thereafter.

Failure to complete payment will result in suspension of services until payment is received.

  1. Session Usage (Ongoing Monthly Services)

For Clients enrolled in ongoing monthly services:

  • Sessions must be used within the applicable billing cycle

  • Unused sessions do not roll over

  • Unused sessions are non-refundable


  1. Payment Method

All payments are processed via Stripe, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. All services provided by Gap Year Guide are considered digital services. Services are considered delivered once access to scheduling, sessions, or materials has been provided. The Client agrees to contact Gap Year Guide first to resolve any concerns before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute. All fees are deemed earned upon payment except as expressly stated in these Terms.

3. CANCELLATION, RESCHEDULING & REFUNDS

  1. One-Time Services

  • Cancellations made 12+ hours before the session will receive a full refund.

  • Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the session will receive a 50% refund.

  • Missed sessions without notice are non-refundable.

  • Makeup sessions may be scheduled depending on availability.

Failure to complete payment may result in immediate suspension or termination of services.

  1. Rescheduling

Clients may reschedule sessions with at least 6 hours notice, subject to availability. 


  1. Monthly Services

  • Monthly service fees are non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun

  • Sessions not used within the billing period are forfeited

  • The minimum 3-month commitment must be fulfilled once services begin


Gap Year Guide reserves the right to determine eligibility for refunds or rescheduling in its sole discretion, consistent with these Terms.

4. COMMUNICATION POLICY

Client may contact Gap Year Guide between sessions via email.
We aim to respond within 24-48 hours on business days. Response times may be longer during holidays, travel, or academic obligations. Clients will be notified in advance when possible.

5. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

To support meaningful progress, the Client agrees to:

  • attend sessions on time

  • complete agreed-upon tasks, homework, or materials

  • provide accurate, honest application or academic information

  • submit all materials by deadlines set by admissions organizations

  • comply with all applicable laws, academic integrity standards, and application requirements

Gap Year Guide is not responsible for late, incomplete, or mis-submitted applications.

6. RECORDING & PRIVACY POLICY

a. No Recording Without Consent

Clients may not record, screenshot, or distribute any part of a session (audio, video, chat, materials) without express written permission from Gap Year Guide.

b. Confidentiality of Communications

Clients may not record, distribute, or publicly share materials without prior written consent, except as required by law or legal process. Nothing in this section is intended to limit any party’s legal rights.

7. PROPRIETARY MATERIALS

All content, templates, PDFs, slides, strategies, and frameworks are the intellectual property of Gap Year Guide.
Client may use these materials for personal application preparation only and may not reproduce, sell, or distribute them. Unauthorized use may result in legal action.

8. DISCLAIMERS

a. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Gap Year Guide does not guarantee acceptance, interview invitations, score improvements, academic outcomes, or any specific results.

b. Not a Substitute for Licensed Advising

Services are not a replacement for guidance from official channels such as academic advisors, admissions offices, AAMC, AACOMAS, AMCAS, TMDSAS, or testing organizations.

c. No Medical, Legal, or Financial Advice

Gap Year Guide does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice. Client should consult qualified professionals for such matters.

d. Client Responsibility

Client is solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and submission of their application materials. Client acknowledges that they are solely responsible for all final application decisions and submissions.

e. No Reliance
Client acknowledges that they are not relying on any representations outside of these Terms.

9. TERMINATION OF SERVICES

Either party may terminate services in accordance with these Terms; however, any minimum service commitments and payment obligations, including the three (3) month minimum for ongoing services, remain enforceable.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gap Year Guide’s total liability arising out of or relating to these services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client.

Gap Year Guide shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to lost opportunities, admissions outcomes, or academic results.

Nothing in this section shall limit liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct where such limitation is prohibited by law.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

In the event of any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter informally and in good faith.

If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration.

The parties shall attempt to mutually agree upon a single arbitrator within fifteen (15) days of a written demand for arbitration. If the parties are unable to agree, the arbitrator shall be appointed by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its applicable rules.

Arbitration shall be conducted remotely whenever possible. If an in-person proceeding is required, it shall take place in the State of Connecticut.

The arbitration shall be conducted before a single arbitrator, and the decision of the arbitrator shall be final and binding.

The Client further agrees that any dispute shall be brought solely in an individual capacity and not as part of a class or collective action, and expressly waives any right to a jury trial.


By agreeing to these Terms, the Client waives the right to pursue claims in court, except where prohibited by law.

12.  Force Majeure

Gap Year Guide shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, technical failures, internet outages, platform disruptions, or other unforeseen events.



Client Acknowledgment

By booking or participating in any Gap Year Guide service, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
